Charterer Vessel Tracking Access: GPS Viewer and Roles

MANTRAZ gives charterers vessel tracking access through a GPS Viewer account that shows the position and track of the vessels assigned to them, and nothing else: no fuel data, no bunkering, no reports. Behind it sits one access structure for everyone who uses MANTRAZ. It is for owners and operators who need to share vessel positions with charterers while keeping their operational data to themselves.

Sharing position without sharing everything

Charterers want to know where their vessel is and where it has been. Owners are usually happy to share that, but not the fuel consumption, bunkering records and reports that come with a full account. Without a way to separate the two, the choice is between answering position questions by phone and message, or giving away more than intended.

GPS Viewer: charterer vessel tracking access

A charterer gets a GPS Viewer account. With it, they can see:

  • the position of the vessels assigned to them
  • the track history of those vessels

They cannot see fuel data, bunkering or reports. The account only covers the vessels you assign, so a charterer working with one or two of your vessels does not see the rest of the fleet.

This gives charterers the answer they are usually looking for, where the vessel is and where it went, without them having to call your office for it.

One structure for every account

GPS Viewer is part of a wider access model. Every account in MANTRAZ sits in one structure of groups, companies and vessels. On top of that:

  • Roles set permissions per module, so each role can open only the parts of MANTRAZ it needs.
  • Vessel access can cover all vessels in a company or only the ones you pick.

That means the same system can serve the office team that needs everything, a department that only needs certain modules, and a charterer who only needs to follow a few vessels.

Why it matters for owners

Keeping fuel and bunkering data private is not about hiding anything. It is operational information that belongs to the owner, and sharing it should be a decision rather than a side effect of giving someone a login. With GPS Viewer, the decision is built into the account.

Who uses it

Owners and operators use access control to decide who sees what across their companies and vessels. Charterers use GPS Viewer to follow the vessels they have chartered. Office teams spend less time answering position questions, because the people asking can look for themselves.
