Voyage Report Software: Distance, Speed and Fuel per Voyage
MANTRAZ gives every voyage its own voyage report, measured from the vessel's own data: distance, average speed, litres per nautical mile, fuel per running hour, time in each operation mode and the wave conditions met on the way. It is voyage report software for operators and fleet managers who want to compare how voyages were sailed using numbers rather than impressions.
The same route, sailed two ways
The voyage chapter on the MANTRAZ homepage shows why this matters. Same vessel, same route, two ways of sailing: holding a steady speed arrived at almost the same time on noticeably less fuel.
Differences like that are easy to miss. Without a measured report for each voyage, two trips on the same route look alike on paper, and the one that cost more simply disappears into the monthly fuel total.
What every voyage report contains
Each MANTRAZ voyage report lists:
- distance
- average speed
- litres per nautical mile (L/NM)
- fuel per running hour
- time in each operation mode
- the wave conditions met on the way
Litres per nautical mile shows how much fuel it took to cover the distance. Fuel per running hour shows how hard the engines worked. Time in each operation mode shows how the engines were run, and the wave conditions show what the sea was doing while it happened.
Putting two voyages side by side
The real value comes when you put two voyages side by side. MANTRAZ shows:
- the delta % between the two voyages for each figure
- overlaid charts, so the two voyages can be read on the same axis
- both tracks on one map
That makes it straightforward to see where the voyages parted ways. Perhaps one held a steadier speed, spent less time at full RPM, or took a different line on the map.
Comparing fairly
A difference in fuel is not automatically a difference in how the vessel was sailed. Because every report carries the wave conditions, you can check whether the two voyages faced similar seas before drawing conclusions. And because operation mode time is part of the report, a difference in engine use shows up in hours, not guesses.
Who uses it
Fleet managers use voyage reports to review performance across vessels and routes. Technical and operations teams use comparisons to find out what made one voyage more efficient than another. Crews get something concrete to learn from: a voyage that went well, side by side with one that did not, with the numbers to show the difference.
