Fleet Data Analysis: Compare Vessels and Periods
MANTRAZ brings fleet data analysis into the same place the data is collected. You can set two vessels or two periods side by side, build charts across vessels, and break the data down minute by minute. It is for fleet managers and technical teams who want to answer questions about performance with their own numbers instead of rebuilding spreadsheets every time.
Data that is hard to compare
Collecting vessel data is one step. Comparing it is another. When figures sit in separate exports, lining up two vessels or two months means copying columns, matching dates and hoping nothing slipped along the way. By the time the comparison is ready, the question has often moved on.
Summary compare: two vessels or two periods
Summary compare sets two vessels, or two periods for the same vessel, next to each other and shows the delta % of every metric against the one you choose as the base:
- distance
- average speed
- average RPM
- running time
- main engine (ME) consumption
Seeing the difference as a percentage against a base makes it clear straight away which direction things moved and by how much.
Custom charts for fleet data analysis
Custom charts overlay up to 8 series across vessels or periods on the same chart. That makes it possible to put several vessels together, or the same vessel across different periods, and see where they diverge. Charts export to PNG for presentations or to CSV for further work.
You can also switch a chart between fuel flow, RPM and speed and compare them hour by hour, which helps show when during the day a difference appeared, not just that it did.
Datalog: the detail behind the numbers
When a summary raises a question, the datalog is where the answer usually is. It breaks the data down per minute, hour, day or week, and it is ready to download as Excel. The same data that feeds the dashboards is available to your team in a format they already work with.
What people use it for
- Comparing two vessels on the same kind of work
- Checking whether a change in operation showed up in the numbers from one period to the next
- Preparing charts for internal reviews
- Pulling detailed data into Excel for their own analysis
Who uses it
Fleet managers use summary compare to see how vessels and periods stack up. Technical teams use custom charts and the datalog to dig into fuel flow, RPM and speed. Office teams who prepare reports use the PNG, CSV and Excel exports to share results with the rest of the company.
See it on the map
The data and analysis chapter on the MANTRAZ homepage compares two demo vessels and lets you switch the chart between fuel flow, RPM and speed. To try fleet data analysis on your own vessels, contact the team for a demo.
