Vessel Tracking System: Live Positions for Your Whole Fleet

MANTRAZ is a vessel tracking system for ship owners and operators who want every vessel in the fleet on one live map. Each vessel sends its own position, speed and status every 60 seconds, so the office follows the fleet as it moves instead of piecing the picture together from calls and messages.

When the fleet is spread across the water

Most operators know the routine. Someone in the office needs to know where a vessel is, how fast it is going or whether it has arrived, and the answer depends on who picks up the phone. When a vessel goes quiet, it is hard to tell whether something is wrong on board or the connection has simply dropped. Planning around that kind of information means planning around guesses.

How the vessel tracking system works

The position comes from the vessel itself. Every 60 seconds, each vessel reports where it is, its speed and its status, and MANTRAZ plots it on one shared map for the whole fleet.

Every connection is also marked Online, Offline, No GPS or No Sensor, so you can see at a glance which vessels are reporting normally and which need a closer look.

Coverage follows the vessel. Near the coast, the onboard gateway sends data over cellular, and vessels with Starlink keep sending full data out at sea. Vessels beyond cellular range with neither can still report their position through the app's satellite mode, so they stay on the map.

Replay tracks and measure routes

A live position answers "where is it now". Track replay answers "what happened". MANTRAZ replays 1 to 14 days of a vessel's track at up to 16x speed, which makes it easy to review a voyage, check where time was lost or answer a question about a past trip.

Routes can be measured on the map with an ETA, so arrival estimates come from the actual route rather than a rough calculation on paper.

What you see on the map

  • Position, speed and status for every vessel, sent every 60 seconds
  • Connection status per vessel: Online, Offline, No GPS or No Sensor
  • Track replay from 1 to 14 days, at up to 16x
  • Route measurement with an ETA
  • Satellite mode for vessels outside cellular range

Who uses it

Fleet managers and office teams use the live map as the starting point of the day: which vessels are under way, which are waiting, which have lost their connection. Because tracking sits in the same dashboard as engine, fuel and bunkering data, a question about where a vessel is can lead straight to a question about what it burned getting there.

Charterers can have their own view too. A GPS Viewer account shows only the position and track of the vessels assigned to them, with no fuel data, bunkering or reports, so you can share where a vessel is without sharing how it is run.

See live ship tracking in action

The MANTRAZ homepage runs a demo fleet on the map. Drag the fleet clock to replay the last 24 hours and watch the vessels move. To see the same view with your own vessels, request a demo and the team will walk you through it.

Installed on TB, LCT, MV and AHTS vessels.
